FSRDC has been conducting Patient Outreach services to educate our patients on Kidney Transplant Options. On September 13th and 14th we welcomed Heidi Montgomery from St. John Transplant Center in Tulsa, OK, and on October 26th and 27th, FSRDC welcomed Jamoyne Ellington from UAMS Transplant Center in Little Rock, AR to visit our clinic and provide patient outreach services for Kidney Transplant options.
Ascension St. John Transplant Center in Tulsa, OK is named as a top transplant program by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and has gained prominence for its clinical excellence. St. John’s was recently recognized by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) as one of 53 U.S. hospitals with the best organ transplant outcomes, according to an article in Becker’s Hospital Review. https://healthcare.ascension.org/locations/oklahoma/oktul/tulsa-ascension-st-john-transplant-center
UAMS is the home of Arkansas’ only adult kidney/pancreas and liver transplant center, with transplants beginning in 1964 with the state’s first kidney transplant. UAMS also performed the state’s first liver in 2005. The UAMS Organ Transplant team has performed over 1,800 kidney transplants and over 400 liver transplants.
Through collaboration with Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery, UAMS has achieved wait times among the shortest in the nation for kidney and liver transplantation, as well as patient outcomes that consistently exceed national benchmarks. https://uamshealth.com/expertise/organ-transplant
Both facilities highly promote their “Living Donor” programs. This spares an individual patient a long and uncertain wait.
FSRDC plans to continue patient outreach services to keep our patients educated and informed of their kidney transplant options.
